    Jim Maldeis is co- owner and business manager of Orchard.  A former number One ranked player in the Usta Mid Atlantic section and nationally ranked player , Jim has 45 years of teaching experience.

  • MIKE CLARK
    Mike Clark has competed professionally in the United States, Europe, and South America. He has numerous Maryland State and Mid-Atlantic titles as both a junior and as an adult. At the age of 40, he was ranked #1 in the Mid-Atlantic in both the Mens 35s and 40s, was a finalist at the Maryland State Mens Open Clay Court Championship, and winner of the Maryland State Mens Open Indoor Hard Court Championship.

    Mike has worked extensively and with junior players who have achieved national rankings and played Division I college tennis as well as players who have achieved world rankings.   • JUSTIN BEHM

    Justin Behm has been on the Orchard Pro Staff since 1995. He has also been the Head Professional at the Towson Golf & Country Club since 1996 and was an assistant professional at the L’Hirondelle Club in Ruxton from 1987-1995. Justin has over 25 years of tennis teaching experience and became a certified level 1 pro by the U.S. Pro Tennis Association in 1992.

    While Justin’s main focus is teaching others the game he loves and trying to better people’s lives through tennis, he also has an extensive playing background. Some of the highlights of his playing career include winning the Maryland Men’s 35’s Indoor Championships and being ranked #1 in USTA Maryland Men’s 35’s in 2005, reaching the round of 16 at the 1995 USPTA National Clay Court Men’s Open Championships, and winning the Baltimore County Boy’s High School Singles Championships in 1988 for Towson Senior High School. Justin was a member of the 1989 Washington College varsity tennis team which was ranked #4 nationally in NCAA division 3. He also played division 1 NCAA collegiate tennis as member of Towson State University’s varsity team from 1990-93.

  • DAVE MAST
    David’s career in tennis started in Louisiana at the age of twelve as one of the youngest players ever to make it to the High School State Championship. His tennis moved north to Baltimore where he played at Calvert Hall High School and then on to UMBC. Playing #1 singles and doubles for four years while at UMBC and winning the East Coast Conference Doubles Championship were some of the many highlights during his early tennis career.

    Besides playing tennis, David also earned a BA in Psychology from UMBC.After college he competed locally, nationally, and played satellite tournaments in the U.S. and Mexico. In 1994, he was ranked among the top 25 amateur players in the U.S. From there he went on to win the Maryland State Men’s Singles and Doubles Championship.   • STEVE KRULEVITZ
    Steve Steve Krulevitz is a home grown professional athlete. He competed on the International Professional Tennis Tour for 11 years. At 15 years of age Steve became one of the youngest Marylanders ever to win the Men’s State Title. Steve is a 4 time MIAA Champion at Park School. Steve was a varsity player in lacrosse, basketball and soccer. As a junior player Steve reached the quarter finals of the US National Boy’s Tennis championships in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The following year Steve ranked #7 in the National United States Tennis Association (USTA) standings.

    As a collegiate player Steve was honored by the NCAA as an All American and he graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.

    As a professional tennis player, Steve reached an international ATP ranking of 42 and U.S. ranking of 19. During his 11 years on the professional men’s tour Steve played the U. S. Open 12 times, Wimbledon 9 times, and the French Open 8 times. He also competed at the Australian Open and played 3 years of Davis Cup matches for Israel.

    In 1984, Steve started his tennis program here in Baltimore. He is currently the Head Varity Tennis Coach at the Gilman School and runs clinics and camps at Orchards Indoor Fitness and Tennis Club.

    He was inducted into the Mid- Atlantic Tennis Hall of Fame and serves on the Board of Directors of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Maryland.
