About Us

Orchard Tennis and Fitness Club is the Baltimore area’s only permanent indoor tennis club with “Har-Tru” clay tennis courts. We strive to make the experience of playing at Orchard as unique as the club itself.

We have 4 well-maintained courts, full locker facilities, fitness room with Nautilus fitness equipment, treadmills, bikes, and elliptical machines. Tennis pro shop with racquet stringing and lobby area with seating to view the courts.

We love tennis as much as you do and want to continue to accommodate you with as many comforts as we possibly can and provide you with the best tennis playing experience in Baltimore.

Our History

The Pardew family built the club in 1968 and Mac Pardew, a former #1 player in Maryland still plays here regularly. Denis Rende, Jim Maldeis, and George Duncan leased the club in 1996 and bought the club in 1998. Presently, we are the only club owned and operated by tennis teaching professionals.

Tennis is mostly mental. Of course, you must have a lot of physical skill but you can’t play tennis well and not be a good thinker. You win or lose the match before you even go out there.

Venus Williams

Tennis is a perfect combination of violent action taking place in an atmosphere of total tranquility.

Billie Jean King

In tennis, it is not the opponent you fear, it is the failure itself, knowing how near you were but just out of reach.

Andy Murray
